The Appointments module allows for traditional scheduling of clinic or other activities (e.g. telephone calls or medical appointments, audits, inspections, fire extinguisher inventory evaluations, etc.) as well as automating recalls for medical and education surveillance requirements. The extensive reporting capabilities of this module eliminate the administrative burden of recalling employees for health surveillance programs and training certification. The Appointments module also provides an automatic notification system to send email reminders to employees regarding surveillance exams that are due.
You can also use the Appointments module to view activities and standard recalls for SEGs (similar exposure groups—groups of employees). Through this mechanism you can be assured that employees are both medically fit and trained for their occupations in accordance with both regulatory and company standards.
Access to scheduling functions are controlled by your security access privileges; i.e. site, role, health center, etc. Any user who has access to the scheduling module, but who is not a practitioner, will only be able to view their own schedule entries unless they have been granted permission to view, modify, and delete schedule entries, for their linked health center(s) only, that have been created by and/or assigned to other users. Without this permission, non-practitioners will be able to view other users’ schedules (availability) but not the details of any appointments, and any names are masked out (“xxxx”).
This chapter explains how to:
understand the components of the Appointments screen (see Viewing and Configuring the Calendar)
set up your available times (see Defining Schedule Availability for a User)
schedule activities and to-do reminders for yourself or other users (see Scheduling Appointments and To-Dos)
print any view of the schedule (see Printing the Schedule)
set up the necessary look-up tables for surveillance recalls (see Setting Up the Look-up Tables)
create, send, and view employee recalls (see Entering a Schedule Recall Notification Record).
view an employee’s schedule history or schedule employee activities (see Viewing Employee Activities and Recalls)
To see the look-up tables used by this module and the reports available, see Module Reference. There may also be system settings that affect your use of this module; for more information, see Changing Your System Settings.
The Appointments module is an intuitive interface that replaces the Scheduling and Scheduling Availability modules which will eventually be removed from the Cority application. In the interim, you can use either module, and any appointments will appear in both. Procedures specific to the Scheduling module can be found at Using the Scheduling Module.
